Film company looking for extras in Gibsons for feel-good Christmas movie

Christmas Sail, a Hallmark movie, will be filmed in Gibsons between August 23 and 27; extras of all ages needed to play town folk

Extras casting director Stephanie Boeke of the movie Christmas Sail is looking for people to play town folk.

The story is about a young woman returning to her Coastal home where she discovers that her father is behind on his mortgage and might lose the family home. With the help of her friend, she decides to enter her boat in the Christmas Light Parade in hopes of winning the prize money. Inspired by her mom’s memory, she creates the perfect Christmas light display inspired by the wonderful memories of her childhood.

The company is looking for “town folk” between 15 and 85 of all genders, sizes and ethnicities to work as paid extras. The pay is a minimum of $16.90 per hour with overtime after 8 hours. You must be available to work a full day of 12 hours and provide your own winter wardrobe. Meals and snacks will be provided while working.

You do not have to be available all four days, just one is good enough.

If interested please send a photo of yourself along with your contact details to: sboeke@hotmail.ca

If chosen you will be contacted via email and given a date to work, together with all details.

It is a bonus if you have a boat in the marina. Please let this know in your email.

  1. Cannot wait to put my winter clothes on for 12 hours in this current heat and get paid the princely sum of 16.90 per hour. I am 79 years old and dying to die for the cause. Where do I sign up for this suicidal mission?

  2. I can’t wait. My winter gear is all ready to go. Can do all 5 days.
