Owner of Block 7 Gospel Rock has also bought Block 6

(by Margot Grant) Ji Yongqiang, the owner of Block 7 Gospel Rock, has bought Block 6 as well. This was confirmed today by Edward Porter, senior urban designer at consulting firm Modus and project planner for Block 7.

Ji acquired the 18.84 acres of Block 6 to secure secondary access to the proposed development on Block 7, Porter said. Block 6 is not part of the rezoning application.

Block 6 was listed for $2,399,000. The purchase price is unknown at this time.

Ji Yongqiang has formed a company called Greenlane Homes to create Gospel Rock Village, a development with 300 to 350 housing units on Block 7. The plan calls for a high-density area with four-storey apartments and condos near the edge of the property at Chaster Road, set around a village-square–like green space with possibly a restaurant and a few small stores.

Two-storey single-family homes are planned along two cul-de-sacs in the direction of the Cross on the Rock.

Owner Ji Yongqiang lives principally in China. His son Ji Yan resides in the Lower Mainland and is very involved in the Gospel Rock Village project management and the decision making, Porter said in an email today.
