“Why do we need to vote for a slate in Gibsons?”

Mayoral candidate Bill Beamish and council candidates Aleria Ladwig, Stafford Lumley, Carol Doyle and David Croal have been advertising together

Gibsons votes for a new mayor and council, and candidates have been jostling for position in signage and  ad visibility.  We now see a slate of candidates in one advertisement which can imply many things: they work together, they band together, and it’s not a stretch to surmise they think alike as well.

Everyone on council thinking alike is not what a community needs.  It needs Individuals who can stand up,  campaign on their own and listen to a community that is diverse in age, life situation, and location.  A one-size-fits-all government is not what Gibsons has needed in the past, and does not need in the future.  Democracy and clear individual input and opinions matter: both from residents and council.  That’s how votes should be cast and that’s what the community should expect.

On October 20, you have the freedom to decide what matters to you.
